What is AOI?
Association of Innovation (AOI), founded by alumni and students in Tsinghua University,
is an organization of technical elites who want to perform their engineering talents into real life innovations.
The Association offers techniques, necessary hardware and funds to support members’ creative ideas; also, we value the opportunities that could improve our community and help our members to gain industrial experience.
AOI members
There are about forty members, current students or alumni of Tsinghua University, in the Association. All of our members are majored in engineering, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science or bio-medical engineering.
AOI is operated based on projects. The Committee takes charge of developing the overall strategy and determining the technical field which AOI should follow. CEO, leading three operational departments and project managers, takes charge of daily management and supportive operations. Actual engineers serve in different projects compose the majority of all members. Their innovation, inspiration and energy are the backbone of the whole organization.
AOI workshop
The headquarter of AOI is the Main Studio located in Tsinghua University. The interior, including a 400 square feet loft, was completely designed, constructed and managed by AOI. The studio has a total area of 1,200 square feet and equipped with all kinds of hardware for electrical, networking, pneumatic experiment. We have PCB fabrication room and a small machine shop next to the studio. Besides, hammock and free food is always available for our hardworking engineers.
Meanwhile, we never stop improving the studio with open, easy, creative environment and equip our Studio with the most cutting edge technology, making the Studio our biggest technical accomplishment.
Activities
AOI is operated based on projects. Each project is led by a principle technical leader and a project manager. Besides project activities, we have plant touring, idea tournament, brain storm session and internal technical training prepared for our members every week to help them jump out of their limit, develop new creative ideas.
